Prada began in 1913 by Mario Prada who sold handbags, shoes and trunks believe it or not. His granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, was born in 1950, and her claim to fame is the signature Prada nylon handbag, which is made out of a type of nylon fabric called 'Pocone' and it helped turn the family business into a billion-dollar-business which sells some of the hottest handbags on the market today.
